Endless

Empty rooms
and corridors
apart
    from the furniture
unmade bed
after
    unmade bed
no end in sight
no beginning
of a relationship
in years.
Single candle burning
casting shadows
on the night-time blinds
drawing and opening
curtains
again
each
morning and night.
Hoping
    today
might be different
not having
to do everything
by yourself
    yet again.
Things getting harder
with the passing
of each year
being the owner
of hands
rarely held.
