The Other Lover’s Lament, a Triolet

Oh, I have rolled you once or twice
from side to side while you lay sleeping
nose whistling in the dead of night
while I listen. It isn’t nice
to ask your love to pay the price;
to lie awake instead of dreaming.
So, yes, I’ve rolled you once or twice
from side to side while you lay sleeping.
