Ti conosco,
ti desidero profondamente, completamente, liberamente, eternamente.
L’Agape cresce qui, nell’attesa,
che ci brucia e ci plasma,
dove le parole «non ancora»
diventano preghiera sulle mie labbra.
nasce in Dio e a Lui ritorna, senza paura.

I know you,
not as one recognises a face among many,
but as one recognises a voice in the darkness,
as something the soul has been waiting for since the beginning.
There is a fire between us that does not dare to explode,
that lives in silences too full to speak,
in glances that seek each other and surrender,
in words that tremble and are never born.
When I am near you, Eros struggles and surrenders,
Breathing deeply beneath the skin,
calling me towards you with a sweet violence,
with a desire that asks for infinity.
But Christ is there, alive between us,
not as distance, but as a higher flame,
that takes this love and purifies it,
not breaking it but consecrating it.
And so, not to possess you,
but to give myself without losing who I am,
to love you as God teaches us to love,
I desire you deeply, completely, freely, eternally.
Agape grows here, in the waiting,
that burns and shapes us,
where the words 'not yet'
become prayer upon my lips.
I dream of the day when we will hold nothing back,
when our hands will seek each other without fear,
and the kiss of the heart
will become flesh, breath, truth.
And even now, in its incompleteness,
this love is already sacred:
it is born in God and returns to Him, without fear.
