El ciervo
en la neblina del lago helado el ciervo deambuló hacia la muerte tropezando sobre piedras húmedas esquivando la iglesia derrumbada
crecimos escuchando las oraciones nos independizamos y volvimos a escucharlas
sobre la cumbre empinada el ciervo durmió en el vacío donde el Señor prometió a los elegidos doce moscas y siete mil lagañas
The Deer
in the frozen lake's mist the deer wandered toward death wrong-foothed over wet stones sidestepping the shattered church
we grew up hearing the prayers we became ourselves and still those prayers we hear
upon the precipice the deer slept in that emptiness where to his chosen the Lord pledged twelve flies and seven thousand crusted eyes
Salto
erguida sobre sus piernas en la ausencia del paraíso que recorta el frágil ocaso del sol
trepa hasta la copa de un árbol entre estrellas espera toda la noche para bajar de un salto
el aire roza cada nervio se dibuja el suelo rápidamente inyectado de radiación lunar
la caída resulta plana y constante fuerte como las pequeñas ramas que no se quebraron al sostenerla

tall on her legs in the absence of the paradise that trims the fragile sunset
climbs to the treetop between stars wait all night to plunge in one jump
air chafes every nerve the soil sketched rapidly bloodshot from lunar radiation
the fall is flat and constant strong as the thin branches that held her without breaking

Camila Evia (San Martín de los Andes, Argentina, 1987) is a poet, graphic designer and translator. Evia graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She is the Art Director of Buenos Aires Poetry, where she is working with editorial design as well as editing and translation. Her artwork was exhibited in several media forms in Argentina, Latin America, United States (Print Magazine) and Italy. Her poems have been published in magazines from all around the world. She has published the books Ridículos (Buenos Aires Poetry, 2019) and Mina Loy:Poemas escogidos + Feminist manifesto (Buenos Aires Poetry, 2020), which counts with an extended edition published in 2021.
Kelsey Hennegen is a poet and translator. She holds an MFA in Poetry from Boise State University, MAs in Liberal Arts and Eastern Classics from St. John’s College, and an MA in English from Middlebury College. As a resident artist with the Historic Santa Fe Foundation (2020-2021), Kelsey created a poetry exhibit for the foundation's El Zaguan gallery and published a chapbook titled "To Keep the Name Daughter." Her poems have found homes in Narrative Magazine, Whitefish Review, Santa Fe Literary Review, and The Bread Loaf Journal, among others.
