When a nation is determined

Henry E. Ewuzie

As a new day begins on 25th hour
A new week begins on the 8th day
And new month begins on 32nd day
Looks real and truer. The apocryphal
makes you, to believe some sort of it

To incite! Fine-tuned, like conviction
Apocryphal is disguised as precepts
The light meant to guide the people
becomes a preceptor for deception
oh! Just feigning to be a silver bullet

People gathered to enkindle a light
A colour-based light of their choice
It could be red. It could be blue or any
One shines brightest. The other dims
Whatever the people will. One wins

The brightest light leads and guides
This become a mandate of victory
A choice and mandate from majority
As the brightest leads, the dimmed
light turns into critics. In defence

So when a nation is determined to
impede only its prograde, foes rise.
The leading light, mislead the laity
Until there are no silver bullets left
Apocryphal will continue to disguise
