After Breer (April 25, 2025)
That calyx of stars beneath your window
Flaming shades of summer soledade
Which at night is your oppressor
If your ledger’s out of date
Their sea-bound chorus of light
Is fabulous. That cold vapor
Is a balm for the factories lit
Up all night churning meaning
In metallurgic nocturnes.
I buy many books but may never
Read one again. They say the bullet
Came from a cop’s gun.
